Beta reader feedback is coming in hot for the new novel. Back in the day, I kept my books to myself until they were released. I can’t imagine going back to that. The critiques have been extremely insightful, and in fact rescued the ending from disaster. Getting the ending right was a top priority this time, because I’ve never been able to pull one off.
Still many tweaks, cuts and additions to make before release on July 4. I’ll be printing off ARCs in the meantime for distribution at a few book festivals the Broken River crew plans to attend in the coming months.
Anyhow, onto the cover reveal:

The cover artist for this novel is Kurt Huggins. I met Kurt through the Rune Soup community. We tend to see eye to eye when it comes to comics, books, and film, and when I saw the quality of his art, I knew he was the guy for the job.
He read an earlier draft of the novel and got back to me with five sketches. I loved all of them, but opted for the movie poster style. I’ll be including the sketches at the back of the book, because they’re so damn good.
The cover completely nails the cyberpunk/anime pastiche feel of the novel. It is a chaotic, heavy metal, profoundly goofy book, and Kurt made it look awesome.
